Who You Are

A lot of people go through identity crises. It is one of the most common reasons why people can’t deploy their potential and experience greater possibilities. Internally, they are dealing with issues and do not consider themselves important. Your life, dream, and future are dependent on your perspective about who you are. If you see yourself as nobody you cannot truly achieve all that God wants you to experience. Knowing who you are and knowing your worth will determine how you release your potential, approach life, and respond to spiritual activities around you.

The beauty of life is found when you are living from the perspective of who you are in Christ Jesus. The knowledge of who you are should consume your way of thinking. Allow the knowledge of who you are to emanate from the true picture of who you are in Christ Jesus. Don’t let others label who you are with phrases such as “you are a failure” or “you will never amount to anything in life.” Be careful. Taking in those types of thoughts can destroy your understanding of who you truly are.

Often, people allow situations and what people think about them to define them. Accepting an opinion that is not consistent with your true personality in Christ Jesus can cause you to be in the worse place in life. So many people have accepted defeat because every step they took was a step of failure and frustration. But that is not what God’s Word teaches. Knowing who we are begins with our relationship with God. God created you for a purpose, to live an effective life and be a blessing to the world.

Looking for people to validate you or give their approval on who you are is a dead-end road. Most of the time, you’re not going to get the validation you are searching for. Get your approval by looking at the grace of God. Grace is God’s approval. It means that He has approved you for a better life. It doesn’t matter what is happening right now, in the grace of God you have a bright future and great destiny. Despite how many times you have fell into sin or how many mistakes you have made in life God has a perfect picture for your future.

In Philippians 1:6 it says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he would hath begun a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

God has started a good work in your life, dreams, and future, and he is going to perform it. He is faithful and performing His word. So, don’t get the picture of your identity from your job or your friends, get it from His word. Don’t let material things such as the car you drive or the house you live in define you because someone will always have something better. Be defined by God’s word! We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

It’s time to hug yourself. Refuse to be conquered by hatred and the malicious words of others. Refuse to bow to every limitation that wants to distract you from your purpose. Take the lead and focus on your destiny! Wake up and pursue your destiny and the things God has put in your heart. Awaken the giant in you, because your life is full of greatness.
